James Fisher Defence, in a joint venture with Singapore Technologies Marine, were selected to provide a complete submarine rescue capability to the Republic of Singapore until 2029.

JFD provides the complete submarine rescue spread, including DSAR 500 Rescue Vehicle, all handling systems, the on-board decompression facilities and all associated equipment. JFD were also responsible for upgrading the existing intervention equipment and integrating them with the new system.

In a ceremony in Summer 2009 the complete system, named Swift Rescue, formally entered service.

JFD personnel are also responsible for the on-going maintenance and operation of all of Swift Rescue's Submarine Rescue Assets.
